| That's right, I'm officially an RN!! I took the NCLEX (state boards) on Saturday, and got my results back today. It felt really good to hear the recording on the telephone say "This candidate has a nursing license" :D

| Veitnam was awesome. There is so much to say- I have a 90 page journal filled up, so obviously I can't write it all here, but I'll share a couple of the highlights. I got to know 5 girls at the orphanage really well and will be able to continue emailing them. They're around 18 or 20 years old and speak at least a little English, so we were able to actually get to know eachother. Their names are Ha, Xuan, Giang, Lan, and Trang. The trip to the beach resort was magnificent and the kids had a blast. We hosted a camp for about 40 kids that have been taken out of bad situations and placed in loving homes, and I imagine it was the best place they've ever been. In addition, they were surrounded by about 30 volunteers, adults and teens, who were able to love them abundantly. :) We (our team of four, including me, Caitlyn, Nathan, and Philip) visited the Cu Chi tunnels for a day and crawled in the underground spaces where the Vietcong used to be. We also went to a tribal area for a day and rode elephants and took a ride in their long dugout canoes. Overall it was amazing and I was encouraged by all God is doing over there. | | |

| I just got back from a great visit to Ohio to see my camp friends. It's always wonderful to hang out with them! Most of the time I was helping out around camp, which mainly consisted of painting school bus to look like a hippie van so it can be used for some fun camper housing over the summer. Yes, David Maynard is a wild, think-out-of-the-box sort of camp director, and decided to install bunks, a/c, lights, and a sound system into the bus, and paint it all 70's-ish to go with the camp "decades" theme. It's gonna rock (I'll have to post pics sometime). Only 8 days 'til I leave for Vietnam! | | |
| I am back home now, although I haven't started to unpack b/c we spent the evening celebrating my mom's birthday, and quite frankly b/c the task is a bit too daunting to tackle tonight. The trip to Vietnam is coming up quickly- I will be leaving June 5th and getting back July 4th. I am really excited about it and can hardly believe that I get to go! :) I get to go to camp on Monday (YAY!) and stay 'til Sunday. It is always so refreshing to see my Ohio friends, and there's nowhere where I feel quite as loved and accepted. :) I will be applying for jobs soon, although I'm not sure what unit I want to work in. I'll definitely be working in a hospital in Knoxville so they'll pay for grad school when I decide to go back and become a nurse practitioner in a few years. At least that's the plan... I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the week! | | |
